(For women) How much makeup should I wear?

Generally, it's best to arrive with very light, shimmer-free makeup (or none). Its better to trust our photo retouching than use a lot of coverup. (Most powders do not show well for headshots.) As the session goes on, more makeup can be applied. In the studio, we have a bathroom, with towels, cotton balls, NYX Matte Finish (to remove shine), among other common ammenities. For the ultimate solution you can hire Wendy, our professional makeup artist.

Do you offer professional makeup services?

Yes. We work with Wendy Ryan Shelton. Contact her here to arrange scheduling and payment. Costs: $150 for hair and makeup. $50 each additional hour. Wendy is well trained in all kinds of makeup. For headshot photography, she specializes in natural looking makeup.

What do you mean by looks?

Looks are considered wardrobe changes. You may add or take away one piece such as glasses or a jacket to a look without having count as a different look.

What is retouching?

We use Photoshop to make you look your best. We remove blemishes, bloodshot eyes, bags under eyes, stray hairs, lessen wrinkles, gently whiten teeth and eyes, sharpen the eyes, etc. Many photographers out there go too far and it looks bad. We do it the right way, very natural. When people look at your photos, they will not know they've been retouched.

What services do you offer?

We provide in-studio headshots, portraits (waist up) for anyone, including kids (at lease one parent must be present). We also do provide the retouching in-house. This adds to your security. Your photo's never leave us until you download them from a password protected online proofing tool. You can also ask us about our commercial product photography.

Why hire us?

We are a family run business and have been in the customer service industry for 2 decades. We know what good customer service is, and you'll receive that. You'll have a great time doing it too. We pride ourselves in making you look your absolute best. We will not rest until we have found your perfect angles and accentuated your beauty.

What to look for in a good photographer?

If you are still shopping for other headshot photographers, take a look at their photo gallery. Most of them make mistakes where the white background isn't pure white. If it is pure white, look to see if the face is blown out (too much exposure). It's a hard skill to master both correctly, but an important one as white backgrounds are the most popular. Did they retouch so much that it looks fake? Many of them go too far with the white around the eyes, teeth, eye color, etc. Are their pictures grainy? Many photographers use a cheating method where they increase the shutter speed (in order to reduce motion blur if the client moves) but it adds a lot of grain to the picture. How is their depth of field (how much is in focus)? The perfect shot has the eyes tack sharp and a little bit of softness in the ears. Beyond having the technical aspect correct, a good photographer uses psychology skills to gently coach the client for confident eyes (not a deer caught in headlights) and a natural smile (not a fake smile that is held). Compare our gallery to other photographers in Las Vegas, you'll see the difference.

How many photos do you take?

50, 75, 100+ are common depending on the package you choose. But don't worry, we will not stop until we've got it right. You'll be able to see the pictures in real time on a TV in the studio.

Is your studio a retail or home studio?

The studio is our home in Las Vegas which allows us to offer great pricing and service to you. The studio has a bathroom, with towels, cotton balls, NYX Matte Finish (to remove shine), among other common ammenities. There is always parking available in our driveway. We will make you feel comfortable as part of the family. You don't have to, but it would be a real blessing to us if you take your shoes off as the studio is on carpet.

How long until I get the photos delivered to me?

3 days or less for the Basic Package, or the same day for the Full and Premium Package! And that also includes the 1 retouched image that we chose. You can pick the remaining ones later and we will retouch those for you very quickly as well.

How much is it? Can I create a custom package?

You can see our rates here, and if you don’t see what you’re looking for, contact us and we’ll quote you a price. For staff and group headshots with several people, we can provide discounts. After the first session, the subsequent sessions will be at a discounted rate.

What is the process?

Contact us to book a date and time for your session and ask any questions you might have. If you want the Full or Premium package, bring some clothing options for the session. There is a bathroom in the studio for you to change. We’ll take the photos, coaching you into the best smiles and poses possible, make sure we’ve got enough photos to choose from, then you’ll pay for the session. Later (1-3 days depending on the package you chose) we will email you a link to an online proofing gallery where you can view all of the photos taken from the entire session. You will also see the one that we chose to be retouched, plus you can then pick the others you would like to be retouched. The full resolution photos can be downloaded individually or as a package from the online proofing web site.
